We live in Ilmenau​,​ a small town in the middle of Germany​,​ near Erfurt (40 km). Ilmenau is a beautiful university town with around forty thousand inhabitants​,​ in the middle of the Thuringian Forest (near Oberhof). We have two houses and would like to offer a house with 3 bedrooms​,​ a bathroom​,​ a kitchen​,​ a living room. All rooms are fully furnished. The only thing missing is a washing machine. The house is my mother's house​,​ she moved to a nursing home last year. We want to sell this house no later than autumn of this year​,​ but in the meantime we offer it for families with small children from Ukraine. We think that the most important thing is to give the youngest children a home as soon as possible in order to alleviate the bad circumstances of the war. We have a little boy who is 4 years old and a little dog. Many children between the ages of 2 and 14 live in the neighborhood. We also have a small playground in front of our house​,​ which can also be used by the guest children. As I have a cat dander allergy​,​ we cannot rent this house to families with a cat. The location is rather rural - we only walk 10 minutes to the nearest forest​,​ but also only 10 minutes to the city center. Our community (neighbors and friends) are very open and look forward to new neighbors​,​ even if it's only temporary. An uncomplicated integration of the refugees into our everyday life is important to us. So that we can talk a bit​,​ it is good if you speak a little German or English.
