Hello, I'm Amanda H.
I am certified in herbalism through Cornell University. I am a bit of a selenophile, with a history of international nomadic wandering. Grew up in an international hippy commune in the Boston area though it has branches all over the world including in Germany and 2 branches in Poland. As a result I am used to sharing space. 50 people to 5 bathrooms and 1 kitchen when I was a kid in the commune. I tend to be a bit of a free spirit, likely due to being raised by a collective of hippies. I am a native of the Boston area, with a family that has been here for generations. I know this regions very well. Spent some time at university studying music and Archaeology, unfortunately I did not finish either. I met a Finnish PhD student and fell in love, and married him. We lived a very peripatetic life for many years, before returning to Boston to settle down. He was the first person I ever sponsored. 9 years later, he is still under my roof, and I still feed him and take care of him, Altogether we have been married for 14 years, so longer than we have been in the US. I don't take on people I won't take care of as long as it takes for them to get on their feet. You have a partner for as long as you need. My husband and I had a plan when we came back, but I became sick due to a change in the preservative chemicals being used in food. The change took place here, while we were living in Vienna Austria, we had no idea any change had happened, it was a shock. So, after some time spent sick and visiting the hospital, we bought this small 2 hectare farm and learned a whole new way of living and a new skill set. Heavy on do it yourself, gardening, keeping chickens, baking.... canning, etc... Because of this sudden bend in the road, we never had the children we planned to have, as a result we have a couple of empty extra bedrooms. Instead of kids, we have 3 dogs. Our life here is a simple one. I work hard, but I love what I do. I am pretty happy. I don't know what else to tell you about me. Ask a specific question get an answer. Does that sound fair?
