My name is Anastasia. I am 28 years old and currently live in a small town located 20 kilometers from Kharkiv, Ukraine. Before the war, I worked as an intellectual property lawyer, having earned a higher legal education. My life took a dramatic turn on February 24, 2022, when the conflict escalated. At that time, I was eight months pregnant and, like many others, spent countless days sheltering in a basement. Despite the dire circumstances, on April 6, 2022, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy whom we named Pasha. The situation in our town has become increasingly perilous. Daily shelling and the tragic loss of lives have made it impossible to continue living here safely. We have decided to seek refuge in a peaceful and free country where we can rebuild our lives from scratch.
