Our names are Denys and Mariia. We are a young couple from Ukraine. We are seeking a host family sponsor through the Homes for Ukraine program for ourselves and our cat. We are originally from the small city of Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhia region​,​ which has been under occupation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Currently​,​ we are in search of a place (country) that we can call home in the future. We hope that in England​,​ we can experience that feeling of home comfort again. We are promising young people. We love animals​,​ traveling​,​ cooking delicious food​,​ and learning new things. Denys is a fan of an English football team. We are currently in Germany. Over the past year​,​ we have been searching for employment. Unfortunately​,​ the job market in our city is poorly developed. And since we do not speak German​,​ this exacerbates the situation. Denys is proficient in English. Therefore​,​ we hope that it will be easier to find employment in England. For Mariia​,​ this will be a great incentive to improve her English skills. Our cat is about 2.5 years old. His name is Whiskey. He is domestic​,​ very active​,​ and playful. He is neutered and litter-trained. He brings us joy every day​,​ despite everything.
